When the evenings start to seem just that bit shorter and the kids are finally back at school for the start of another academic year, it can only mean one thing – Autumn is on its way. And as we enter the last third of what has been the most bizarre of years and Halloween, Bonfire Night and, dare I say it – Christmas – seem to be fast approaching, we start to wonder just where has 2020 gone? Life over the last 6 months has changed immeasurably and no one can predict just yet what the next 6 months will hold. One thing is certain though – we will do our best to carry on and the housing market, for the timebeing, appears to be buoyant.
There is no “right time” to put your property on the market for sale – with the snow and bad weather in Winter and heatwaves in early Summer, the busiest times for new instructions are normally Spring and Autumn; and with the temporary freeze on stamp duty payments, I predict that new listings will continue to flood in well into September and October. The idea of being in a lovely new home for festive period is an appealing thought and taking into account the length of time required to navigate through the legal process, it makes perfect sense to start the ball rolling now and request a free, no obligation, valuation from Barker Healey, if you do intend to move.
Seasons aside, I am so pleased that I have a fabulous, hardworking team in our High Street office. To refresh your memory, or incase you haven’t had the pleasure of meeting our lovely ladies yet, here is a brief introduction:
Rachel is a Newport lady born and bred and as a result, benefits from excellent local knowledge. She possesses great customer service skills gained in her previous roles which are now a huge asset to Barker Healey in her position as Lettings & Property Management Associate. Having also moved house 14 times in 20 years she has fantastic “hands on” experience of the moving process and is able to offer excellent advice to help keep the stressful elements at bay! In her spare time, Rachel enjoys days out with her family or reading a good crime novel!
Sue moved to Telford in 1997 and has had experience in running her own sales-based businesses in the past. Because of this, Sue is extremely organised and again, is brilliant at dealing with customers both face to face and over the phone. She has been with us since 2013 and is an amazing Office Manager to Barker Healey. Outside of work Sue enjoys holidays in the sun with her family and friends, watching football, (she is a Wolves fan but don’t let that cloud your judgement!) and following speedway.
Emma is the newest addition to the clan and joined us back in March as a Sales Valuer & Lister. She has previously worked for another Telford estate agency and is also a fully qualified beautician. Emma is straight talking and an excellent negotiator too. In the little amount of free time she has, Emma likes spending time with her daughter and walking her Westie dog Brook!
